Polish Citizenship
« on: March 10, 2012, 06:01:12 PM »
My Grandfather was born in Galicia in 1911 (While being part of Austro-Hungarian empire). Later Galicia had become part of Poland. in 1939 he found him self in the Soviet Territory. When the Germans had invaded Poland he Joined the partisans and withdrew with them to USSR. I know that he lost his Citizenship when he didn't return to Poland in 1951. But my mother was born in Kazakhstan in 1945. So by the Polish law i assume she had Polish citizenship. And because of the fact that the 51's law says that only who was Polish citizen in 39 lost his citizenship in 51, than i assume she is still Polish citizen by the law. Am i right?

Why do you think your father lost Polish citizenship? Did he stay in USSR after II world war - did he get USSR citizenship? What was his nationality? Regarding your mother - who were her parents? Where were they born?
